Downtown Flower Basket & Beautification Programs

Each Spring we decorate the downtown district with over 50 flower baskets, as well as provide a rotation of pole banners and downtown way-finding. We work with the city throughout the year on ways to keep Bainbridge clean, beautiful, and welcoming. Additionally, we continue to work with our downtown partners and stake holders on way-finding improvements, seating and rest area amenities, service infrastructure, and various avenues meant to make each visit downtown more enjoyable.

Downtown Walkabout Guide

Our headline project is the creation, printing and distribution of 150,000 printed guides, which continues to be the most widely distributed and used of all Island collateral materials. The map is available via physical distribution, kiosk displays, and online. It includes QR codes on the map for up-to-date links to the ferry schedule, plus Island events and more. The Guide’s goal is to aid visitors in finding all that our downtown has to offer. It provides a resource for pre-planning, so those visitors that may be interested in creating a getaway itinerary can make travel arrangements based on potential places to stay, see, savor and shop.

Distribution for 2026 will include WS Ferries, passenger cruise ship terminals, 200+ hotels, and over 250 rest stops and visitor locations in the Pacific Northwest. BIDA also provides guides for distribution at the Bainbridge Island Chamber Visitor Center, ferry terminal kiosks, and island-wide to Bainbridge merchants. In addition, we supply guides to off-island partners, hotel concierges, Port of Seattle, eight locations in the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and to many other tour professional organizations.
